Scott Sheftall has dedicated his legal career to the art and practice of trial advocacy in American courts of law and arbitration tribunals. Mr. Sheftall is a Board Certified Specialist (B.C.S.) in Civil Trial Law by the Florida Bar and has over 40 years of experience in trying civil cases in courthouses throughout Florida and beyond. He takes pride in pursuing the difficult cases that other lawyers have turned down.

Mr. Sheftall’s special knowledge, skills and professionalism in trial advocacy are denoted by his Board Certification in Civil Trial Law. Board Certification represents the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar of the competency and experience of attorneys in the limited areas of law approved for certification by the Supreme Court of Florida. In 2000, Mr. Sheftall was inducted into the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an invitation-only association dedicated to upholding the highest professional standards of trial practice in the civil jury system.

In 2014, Mr. Sheftall was inducted as a Fellow into the highly selective International Society of Barristers, a society dedicated to the preservation of trial by jury, the adversary system and an independent judiciary. Mr. Sheftall was also recently designated as one of “America’s Top 100 Lawyers” as a result of his outstanding career-long achievements.

Further, Mr. Sheftall has achieved Martindale-Hubbell’s highest peer-review rating of “AV Preeminent,” and he has been selected as a Florida “Super Lawyer” in litigation categories every year since 2006. In addition, Mr. Sheftall has also been recognized as one of the “Top Attorneys in South Florida” by South Florida Legal Guide, and during the last two years, he was recognized as one of “Northeast Florida’s Top Attorneys” and “Area Board Certified Attorneys” by Jacksonville Magazine.

Mr. Sheftall believes that relationships of genuine trust and confidence, established with clients and the courts through exceptional competence, candor, and compassion, are the foundation on which every winning case is built by the firm. This core conviction was forged through experience in trying cases in a broad range of subject areas, including complex commercial litigation, class actions, antitrust, insurance, property damage, defamation, probate, negligence, product liability, maritime and admiralty, premises liability, legal and medical malpractice, and wrongful death. Mr. Sheftall has successfully prosecuted and defended significant cases in each of these areas in state and federal trial courts, on appeal, in arbitration, and in adversary proceedings in bankruptcy. The total value of all judgments, settlements, and arbitration awards Mr. Sheftall has achieved is in excess of $100,000,000.
